Ingredients
- 220g of flour
- 200g of sugar
- 2 tsp of baking powder
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 2 1/2 tbsp of poppy seeds
- 100ml of oil
- 100ml of yoghurt
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
- Zest of one orange
Icing ingredients
- 110g of icing sugar
- Juice of half an orange
Instructions
- Combine the dry ingredients into a bowl: flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and poppy seeds.
- In another bowl, combine the wet ingredients: oil, yoghurt, eggs, vanilla extract and orange zest.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients then fold the mixture with a spatula.
- Pour the batter into a greased loaf tin, then bake the cake at 180 degrees celsius for 50 minutes, or until a skewer into the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes.
- For the icing, whisk the icing sugar with the juice of half an orange until it is well combined.
- Drizzle the icing over the cake, then garnish the cake with orange zest.
