Frosted Cupcakes

Cupcake Ingredients

  • 100g of butter
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup of flour
  • 1 1/4 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 2 eggs

Icing Ingredients

  1. 200g of cream cheese
  2. 75g of butter
  3. 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  4. 1 cup of powdered sugar
  5. 2 drops of coloured food dye of your choice
  6. Sugar pearls

Cupcake Instructions

  1. Beat the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla extract until fluffy.
  2. Add the flour, baking powder and milk into the mixture.
  3. Fold the mixture with a wooden spoon until it is all combined.
  4. Transfer 2 tablespoons of the mixture into a muffin tray.
  5. Bake the cupcakes for 15 minutes at 180 degrees celsius.
  6. Remove the cupcakes from the tray and set aside to cool.

Icing Instructions

  1. Beat the cream cheese, butter, vanilla extract and powdered sugar in a bowl.
  2. Add the coloured food dye and mix with a spoon.
  3. Fill a piping bag with the mixture and use a star-shaped tip to pipe the top of the cupcake.
  4. Sprinkle sugar pearls on the cream-cheese frosting.
